As a user of Hyre's services, the following terms apply:

- Terms for Renter
- Insurance Terms
- Terms for current prices, fees and rules for reimbursements as described in this document
Prices and Hyre's Brokerage Fee
The prices applicable at all times are stated in Hyre's mobile application "Hyre". These include the rental time price, price per kilometer driven, and agreed rates for fuel/electricity payment/discount. The Renter is responsible for the car and expenses resulting from its use during the rental period until return, including parking fines, speeding fines, parking fees, toll crossings, and fuel.
The Renter is charged for each commenced hour of their rental period. Hyre charges the Renter based on the combination of price points that result in the lowest total price.
The prices stated in the mobile application "Hyre" include Hyre's brokerage fee, insurance, and value-added tax (VAT). Brokerage fees to Hyre are intended to cover costs for platform development, operation, and marketing.

Renters do not incur a monthly cost for using the platform unless otherwise stated.
Insurance and Excess
Insurance is included in the agreement between the Renter and Hyre and applies to registered drivers who are 23 years of age or older. The deductible for damage is limited to NOK 12,000 for the Renter.
An additional driver can be registered free of charge for a rental. The additional driver must be a registered Hyre user with a verified driving license. If the additional driver is under 23, there may be an increased insurance premium based on the age of the youngest driver in the rental relationship.
Fuel
The fuel cost is calculated automatically. If you refuel using the vehicle's Circle K card, the actual amount charged to the card will also be added to your final invoice. We measure the fuel level before and after the rental period. If you return the vehicle with a lower fuel level than when you picked it up, you will be charged per missing liter. If you return the vehicle with a higher fuel level, you’ll receive a discount per extra liter. You can view the current fuel prices in the app when booking. If the discount exceeds the total rental price, you’ll receive a voucher to use at a later date.
Extra driver An additional driver must be a registered Hyre user with verified driving eligibility. | No extra fee |
More information about the insurance can be found in our Insurance Terms

Failure to clean the car The car must be returned in a comparable state as when it was picked up. The car should be free from trash and debris. The renter should not leave the car unreasonably dirty beyond what can be expected from normal use. Any residues and heavy dirt should be removed before returning the car. The owner is responsible for the exterior wash of the car. Hyre reserves the right to charge the renter if interior cleaning is inadequate. | NOK 600 (+ actual cost for extensive cleaning, if required) |
Failure to charge an electric car When returning an electric car, the renter must ensure that the car is connected to a charger. Failure to charge may impact the next user's reasonable expectation of the car's range. Hyre reserves the right to charge the renter a fee if the car is not returned connected to a charger. | NOK 600 |
Other damages or violations of the Terms of Use may result in compensation being sought, entitling Hyre to full coverage of documented financial expenses or losses.

Expenses and Reimbursements During the Rental
The Renter is responsible for the car and expenses resulting from its use during the rental period until return, including parking fines, speeding fines, parking fees, toll crossings, fuel, and charging.
Hyre automatically calculates the cost of toll crossings in Norway and settlements for fuel based on Hyre's current rates. Fuel rates are available in Hyre's app. In some cases, discounts may be available for refueling, with any negative total amounts credited as a bonus for future use.
The Renter is also responsible for paying ferry fees in Norway, toll crossings outside Norway, and other expenses incurred while using the car during the rental period. In cases of non-payment, Hyre may seek compensation for incurred expenses plus a fee for additional administrative work.
Fees for Non-Payment
Unpaid parking fee Some facilities charge the vehicle owner automatically unless paid directly, e.g., Autopay. If payment is missed, the renter will be charged the parking fee along with a fee for non-payment. | Original parking fee + NOK 100 |
Unpaid ferry in Norway and toll abroad The renter is responsible for paying ferry tolls in Norway and tolls abroad. Failure to pay will incur an additional fee for processing. | Ferry/toll cost + NOK 200 |
Unpaid fines and other fees Fines and fees should be paid immediately by the renter. If the fine is forwarded to Hyre, it will be recharged with a manual handling fee. This also applies if the car is improperly parked upon return. | Original fine/fee + NOK 200 |
Deposit When Renting a Car
Hyre reserves a NOK 2,000 deposit as security for payment of the rental, mileage, tolls, and fuel/charging. The deposit will be refunded after the car is returned. It may take up to 7 working days after returning the car before the money is available to the Renter again.
